Ntombi Tshabalala and Ace Khumalo have reportedly been arrested for drug possession.
According to Daily Sun, the couple, who won Big Brother Mzansi in 2015, were nabbed in Claremont, near Sophiatown, Johannesburg, on Tuesday.
Police spokesperson Lieutenant Kay Makhubela told the paper that police received a tip-off about a suspicious vehicle in that area. They stopped it, and then found dagga, a dagga grinding machine, and ecstacy.
They were arrested and are facing a drug possession charge. The couple will appear in the Sophiatown Magirstrates court on Thursday.
The duo were crowd “Big Brother Mzansi: Double Trouble” winner last year, after 56 days of drama, the sweethearts were announced as the winners of the season in a live 90-minute finale.The pair nabbed an R 2 million prize from the remaining two couples – Blue and K2 as well as Chelsea and Mbali.
The couple who have been together for five years, Ace and Ntombi both have hopes of building a career in the entertainment industry. “I’m very excited about becoming an actress and releasing an album,” said Ntombi. While in the Big Brother house, Ace promised Ntombi “the best wedding ever” if they won the reality competition.
