On Wednesday, the TV and radio host announced that she’s been nominated for a Nigerian Broadcasters’ Merit Award in the African Broadcaster of the Year: People’s Choice category.

The awards celebrate local Nigerian and African artists for their contribution to the broadcasting industry. And, well, what’s an African award without Bonang? She’s up against stiff competition and will face off against ten other nominees including Weza Solange and Mimi Fawaz.

In December 2015, the Metro FM radio personality hosted The Future Awards Africa (TFAA) in Lagos, Nigeria.

In an interview with the Sunday Times, Bonang revealed that she’s working on expanding her brand into the rest of the world.

She told the publication: “I am in the final stages of talks to buy the rights to one of the biggest US TV lifestyle shows, it’s exciting coming this far in my career, and in managing my finances – still being able to attract the money and identify ways to expand that income.”
