The popular hip-hop DJ and YFM presenter has scored himself a massive TV gig as the new presenter on Vuzu.
DJ Speedsta will join the likes of Shelton Forbez, Denise Zimba and Lalla Hirayama when he takes his place on the show this Wednesday, the 3rd of February.
Taking to Instagram to share his excitement at the announcement, Speedsta reflected on the come up and what this new gig means to him.
“I guess word is out. ? Grew up looking up to the likes of @djfreshsa @euphonik by the grace of God, my brother knew both of them very well so I got to meet them, when I entered the industry I was fortunate enough to get the time of day from them all because of my brother @soulkidsa, I later in my life got the attention of a guy called @djfranky we somehow clicked from day 1 regardless of our age difference, I remember the first time him & I had a shot at The Bank in Rosebank & he asked me what my plan was, told him & he immediately told me about a lady by the name of @thandymatlaila told me she could help me, a month later she had a birthday party at Zar & Franky told her I was on the line up, called me after & told me I was playing at Zar for Thandyy’s birthday, Thandy & i’s relationships was born there, she was my publicist for 2 years trying to make DJ Speedsta a brand, trying to get me tv gigs, get me on radio, help me do more than just playing music. In the last days of our working relationship I landed a job @sowetotv worked there as a presenter from April 2012 to date with the bigger picture insight. 2015 January my life changed when @tshepostapura called me & told me he wanted me to present the hip hop radio show at YFM. I literally saw my lifetime dreams come to life, now a TV Show ? I could type all day but I’m kinda on a island enjoying my last night at some “South African Beach Bar” ??? so I’m gonna stop right here with the deep shit. Moral of the story, for those who haven’t heard, il be a presenter, TV personality on @vuzutv as of this coming Wednesday the 3rd of Feb 2016.
