Former President George H.W. Bush broke a bone in his neck in a fall at his Maine summer home on Wednesday, according to his spokesman.

The former president turned 91 last month and uses a wheelchair because he has Parkinson’s disease.

His spokesman Jim McGrath said on Twitter that Bush was stable but will be sporting a neck brace following the accident.

41 fell at home in Maine today and broke a bone in his neck. His condition is stable — he is fine — but he’ll be in a neck brace.

Bush — who suffered a fractured neck in the fall — was receiving treatment at Maine Medical Center in Portland, according to Matt Paul, a spokesman for the hospital. He gave no further details and said it was “premature” to speculate beyond that.

Bush — the 41st U.S. president — spent nearly two months in a Houston in January 2013 for bronchitis-related issues. More recently, he spent a week last Christmas in the same hospital after he experienced difficulty breathing.

News of Bush’s latest hospitalization injury drew an outpouring of support. Chelsea Clinton was among those sending best wishes for a speedy recovery to the former president.
