Now, as the brand celebrates 13 years, it returns with a line-up that pays tribute to its roots while embracing the evolution of comedy.

Mark your calendars for two unmissable nights of stand-up royalty on 5 April at Durban ICC and at Emperors Palace, Johannesburg on 12 April when Kings & Queens of Comedy marks this milestone with a show that blends nostalgia, legacy, and fresh, fearless humour.

Durban line-up (in association with East Coast Radio): Darren Maule, Alfred Adriaan, Darren Simpson, Trevor Gumbi, Annalakshmi, Angel Campey, Muthu Murugan, Khanyisa Bunu, Joey Rasdien, Conrad Koch & Chester Missing and Chris Forrest,

Johannesburg line-up: Darren ‘Wackhead’ Simpson, Alfred Adriaan, Annalakshmi, Angel Campey, Muthu Murugan, Khanyisa Bunu, Joey Rasdien, Tracey-Lee Oliver, Chris Forrest and Conrad Koch & Chester Missing.

A true testament to its enduring success, this year’s edition features five of the original comedians who helped launch the brand in 2012 – Darren ‘Wackhead’ Simpson, Chris Forrest, Joey Rasdien, Angel Campey, and Trevor Gumbi.  These seasoned comics have been a mainstay on Kings & Queens of Comedy line-ups over the years, each carving their own path in an industry that has seen a massive transformation over the past decade.

Reflecting on the journey of Kings & Queens of Comedy, Blu Blood co-founders Osman Osman and Shaaista Khan Osman share: “When we first started this brand 13 years ago, our vision was to create a platform that not only showcases South Africa’s best comedic talent but also brings people together through the universal language of laughter. Year after year, we’ve seen it grow in scale and impact, and we are so proud of the diverse talent that graces our stage. This year’s edition is no exception – it’s bigger, bolder, and funnier than ever before!”

Over the years, Kings & Queens of Comedy has seen unforgettable moments with legendary performances, viral stand-up clips, and sold-out shows that prove just how powerful comedy can be. The South African comedy scene itself has undergone a shift, with stand-up becoming more accessible through digital platforms and social media, and a new wave of comedians pushing boundaries. But even as trends change, the true icons of the stage remain, adapting and thriving in an ever-evolving landscape.

As Kings & Queens of Comedy celebrates its 13th anniversary, it’s clear that the brand has been instrumental in elevating comedy as an art form, giving a platform to both seasoned performers and rising stars, and creating a legacy that continues to shape the entertainment industry.  Tickets are available now from Ticketpro and selected SPAR Payzone kiosks.
