The J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge, one of Johannesburg’s most anticipated annual corporate road running events, is celebrating its 20th edition this year, uniting corporate teams and wellness enthusiasts for an evening of athleticism and community. The event will take place on Thursday, 13 March 2025, at the Wanderers Club in Johannesburg.

Since its inception, the Corporate Challenge has become a vibrant platform for companies to promote health, teamwork, and corporate responsibility. This landmark 20th edition is set to have over 14000 participants anticipated to run, walk, and support one another in this year’s sold-out race.

“This year marks an exciting milestone for the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge in Johannesburg,” said Kevin Latter, Senior Country Officer & Head of Investment Banking for  J.P. Morgan Sub Saharan Africa “We are thrilled to celebrate two decades of promoting wellness, camaraderie, and social good. The energy and enthusiasm of the Johannesburg community have made this event a tremendous success, and we’re honoured to continue our support for local initiatives.”

Giving Back: 2025 Beneficiary

In keeping with its commitment to corporate social responsibility, J.P. Morgan will make a donation to The Laureus Sport for Good Foundation and support initiatives that promote sustainable development, education, and community empowerment.

“We, alongside our long-standing partner The Laureus Sport for Good Foundation, are proud to partner with incredible organisations that are doing vital work in our community,” Latter added. “This year, as we celebrate our 20th edition, funds raised will support these beneficiaries who are creating lasting change in Johannesburg.”

The organisations include:

Soweto Canoe and Recreation Club – The Soweto Canoe and Recreation Club (SCARC) is a community-driven sports and development initiative based in Soweto, Power Park. SCARC provides training and competition opportunities in canoeing, allowing children to participate in local, provincial, and national races. With guidance from experienced coaches, the paddlers have achieved significant milestones, earning medals and recognition in Gauteng Series Races, South African Schools Championships, and the South African Canoe Marathon.

Fight With Insight – launched in 2006, Fight with Insight was established in the city with the vision of creating a safe place for the children of Johannesburg, using boxing to teach life skills to assist in taking responsibility for claiming rights. Fight with Insight aims to contribute positively to healthy lifestyles and sustainable communities for youth and children. Fight with Insight is one of the few programs that focusses on the boy child, without excluding the girl child, with the intention of reclaiming manhood and exiting good men into the world. Fight with Insight is fighting for a society in which men are responsible and take responsibility for not harming themselves and others, positively impacting on breaking the cycle of violence.

By participating in the race, attendees will not only be promoting health and wellness but also contributing to the continued success and growth of these essential programs that make a positive impact on the lives of many children and young people in our community.

And the excitement doesn’t stop at the finish line—participants will enjoy incredible live performances at the post-race party on the Main Stage on the bottom oval. The electro-pop duo Locnville, featuring identical twins Andrew and Brian Chaplin, will kick off the festivities at 8:00 p.m. with their infectious melodies. DJ Luis will keep the energy going with his high-energy dance tracks afterwards.

It’s not just a race— The J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge brings Company Teams closer through community, fitness and fun!
