Fhumulani describing her style as comfortable and fun stepped out rocking a fun looking semi-formal look with a torch of African print purse, a denim trouser paired with a white off-shoulder lace top and a soft yellow jacket, she finished the look with a stunning yellow heel.

A look which can won on several occasions like business meetings and still be comfortable while running an errand by pulling off the jacket, yet sexy enough for a casual date.

Fhumulani speaking with adornedbeyond hinted us about herself and her future aspirations.

Tell us a bit about yourself…i.e. where are you from, what are your names, earliest childhood memory.

“Hi, am 35 years of age my name is Fhumulani Munaka. I am a wife and a mother to 3 beautiful kids, 2 girls and a boy. I grew up in Fondwe village, Nzhelele in Venda. With 2 siblings, we were all raised by our single mother with the help of my grandmother who was the breadwinner.

ADORNEDBEYOND INTERVIEW

I completed my matric at Mbilwi Secondary School in Sibasa, Venda and therafter went to Vaal University of Technology to further my studies in BTech: Information Technology.

Growing up was not as rosy because I didn’t get everything I wanted like other privileged kids but I am most grateful for the sacrifices that were made to make sure I had the best education and never went to bed on an empty stomach.

I remember seeing Khanyi Dlomo on a magazine cover and thinking to myself that I would one day love to see my face on a magazine cover. I was inspired by her and she became my role model.

Why Modelling?

I always knew I wanted to be a model but I was made to believe it can’t be a career one can follow without any other career to fall back on, and being expected to meet society expectations I had to pursue another career before modelling.
But after having so many people (friends and strangers) encouraging me to go for it I then decided to give it a try 2 years ago and just never looked back.

Do you model full time?

I have a full-time job and therefore do modelling part time.

What other modelling Jobs have you done?

I have done stills for SAA, Royco and Knorrox. And I have had the privilege to do OMO Kenya Ad as well as a Ghandour Cosmetics commercial.

What are your Future plans?

I plan to leave my current job and do modelling full time…hope it is not too late. and I would like to venture more into the modelling industry.

Do you have any advice for aspiring models?

The advice I would give to young and aspiring models is to go for what they are passionate about regardless of the expectation of the society and do it as soon as possible. They should expose themselves to modelling and gather as much information as possible at a tender age because the younger you are when you start, the better. Just like any other job, modelling has it’s ups and downs and you must put in just as much hard work as you would with any other job. The industry can be very demanding and is not always as rosy as we think but otherwise it can be so much fun, so under any circumstances try and have fun and enjoy doing what you love.

What would you say to your younger self in 2 word?

Love Life!
