Beyonce stole the show at the Super Bowl 50 as she perform formation live for the first time.
Beyoncé effortlessly stole the Super Bowl half-time show right from under Coldplay’s noses with a guest slot that affirmed her brilliance as a performer.
The Single Ladies superstar was invited by Coldplay to join them as a guest for the half-time show, and she took the opportunity to not only drop a new single and perform it live for the first time, but to also announce her world Formation world tour.
Queen Bey dropped the surprise song with an accompanying music video just a day before her performance at the Super Bowl at Levi’s Stadium on Sunday. Beyoncé marched onto the football field, clad in skintight leather and Michael Jackson-style military gold sashes, with a posse of impeccably choreographed female dancers dressed like 70s Black Panthers.
Now it’s been announced that Beyonce is taking Formation on the road. The 40-date tour was announced by Live Nation, featuring dates across the UK, North America, Europe and Canada, which will begin on April 27th.
The dates will take Beyonce right through to July, with tickets going on sale next week.
On the same weekend before hitting the stage, Queen Bey dropped new track, Formation, whipping the Bey Hive around the world into a frenzy.
And she gave an super-rare interview ahead of the Super Bowl Halftime Show ahead of the Sunday’s Coldplay-headlined show, where she will hit the stage along with Just The Way You Are hitmaker Bruno Mars.
Talking about her incredible 2013 Super Bowl performance in New Orleans, where she reunited with Destiny’s Child and caused a power outtage after singing some of her classics like Single Ladies, Crazy In Love and Halo, Beyonce said: “I knew I had to make the best of the moment.”
She continued: “It’s one of those magical performances you can’t recreate. I wanted it to be something iconic and something that people would never forget.”
