I can never get over driving into this quiet town for work and feeling strangely out of place, because everything about the place screamed “Vacation!! Vacation!!” and I was left wondering how do people work in this place?!
The semblance of the area is so easy going, so relaxed and tranquil nothing like the buzz and phusha phanda I was coming from in Johannesburg. Every care in the world somehow escapes you as you enter the town and you become enchanted by the large Granite Domes of the Paarl Mountains and get captivated by the incredible architecture dating back to the early 1800’s.
I was driving to my hotel which was booked by our agency, I really did not look into the Hotel I just knew its name was the Grande Roche and I want to be out of there and back with my family as soon as I can. Nothing had me prepared for all this resplendence, I found myself wanting to stay longer to Investigate the towns Rich history and the grandeur of this Hotel I was staying in.

Award winning Bosman’s Restaurant is situated in the manor house at the Grande Roche Hotel. A fusion of imaginative and innovative epicurean delights will tantalize the most discerning of palates. The restaurant seats up to 70 guests.
Bistro Allegro
A sumptuous selection of the Cape’s finest fare can be enjoyed in the relaxed and contemporary Bistro Allegro. Bistro Allegro is the perfect place for an informal meal which can also be enjoyed on the pool patio.
CONFERENCES AND WEDDINGS AT THE GRAND ROCHE HOTEL
The banqueting and conference venue is surrounded by vineyards and plum orchards and is situated at the top of the estate to offer privacy for any event.
This venues with its own amphitheatre, seating 350 people, can be transformed to accommodate a variety of social functions e.g. weddings, anniversaries, product or vehicle launches and demonstrations. The venue is 200 square meters and can be divided into three equal sections with seating for 10 to 120 people, depending on the setup.
Lina’s Gallery
Presenting the works of two international artists – Lina Yao and Jean Doyle. An artist of exceptional talent, Lina Yao’s oil paintings capture the beautiful South African landscapes, remarkable portraits and still life. Guests may also commission portraits in charcoals or pastels during their stay at the Grande Roche Hotel.
Jean Doyle is renowned for her bronze sculptures of African figures… a combination of voluptuous grace & weighty elegance.
