Johannesburg, 3 February 2022: Sandton City has announced the opening of an exciting new facility for children. Themed The Clever Caterpillar, the new custom-designed clamber area, that is now open, will provide hours of fun between shopping for children aged 3 – 6 years old, in Africa’s most iconic shopping centre.

With just as many interactive activities as a caterpillar has legs, the new area is located on level 6 (the upper retail level) near Woolworths entrance. The Clever Caterpillar features a giant caterpillar-themed tunnel, a mini climbing wall, immersive games and larger-than-life toys. A reading corner, that includes arts and crafts, will keep enquiring minds busy for hours. Complete with a soft floor, bright colours and nature-themed furnishings, young hearts will delight in the cheerful, cozy and comfortable space.

There is also be a pram and trolley parking station and seating in the area for parents. Baby changing facilities are located in the bathrooms close by. Entry to the area, that is open every from 9am – 6pm, is complimentary. Parental supervision is essential.

Building this play area is just the start of what we plan to bring to the property for family shoppers to enjoy,” he added. 

Sandton City is a Covid-19 compliant shopping centre. All Covid-related regulations as well as other safety measures will be in place in the new area.
