[Johannesburg, 11 February 2022] Louise Carver, arguably SA’s best known and most loved female singer-songwriter, releases her first brand new single in over a year with ‘Take My Hand’ – out today through Gallo Record Company.

Written by Carver, ‘Take My Hand’ celebrates life and being together again after lockdown and social isolation. The energy of the song is driven by a sexy urban dance beat created by Simphiwe ‘Simz’ Kulla from popular SA Afro Pop/Soul band, ‘The Muffinz’. Carver and Simz recorded the single towards the latter part of 2021 at Audio Militia Recording Studio in Dunkeld, Joburg.

Upbeat and engaging from the start ‘Take My Hand’ kicks off 2022 with a great celebration for Carver. “Everything about this euphoric song makes you want to dance, exhale and feel human again. I loved working with Simz because what we both bring to the table is completely different and unique, which makes for a great collaboration and fusion of sounds.”

‘Take My Hand’ is also the first single to be released from Carver’s forthcoming and 7th Studio album due for release later in 2022.

The release of the single is accompanied by a visually masterful music video at the hand of director, Martin Bleazard.

Louise Carver has never looked more exquisite than she does in the music video for ‘Take My Hand’. She’s vibrant and exudes a vivacious energy as she leaps into 2022, ready to enjoy life fully and share good times with good people.

The video is a pictorial celebration of some the best spots in Jozi as Carver explores the streets of Joburg and some of its popular spaces. The first destination was the stylish, yet quirky, Pablo House in Melville with its intimate bar, South African artworks and eclectic furnishings. The venue is also the highest point in Melville and overlooks the wonderful views of the Koppies from its glass restaurant.

Thereafter the shoot moved to 44 Stanley, one of Caver’s favourite Joburg venues with its authentic approach to living/working spaces and South African brands that it houses within its walls.

‘We really used all the hidden gems of this location, including stairways, walkways and of course the restaurants. Nobody even looked up as I charged through the open spaces wearing a shiny red dress and heels followed closely by my director,’ quips Carver.

From 44 Stanley, the team went to Ellis House Art Building which houses many artist’s studios inside. Although the place was buzzing with creative energy, Carver was after the roof with its 360-degree views of Joburg. The light in the afternoon made everything shimmer in the streets below and as the rain fell gently, Carver took her shoes off and danced around the very large roof. A wonderful surprise was a pair of angel wings one of the resident artists had painted on a concrete wall on the roof – a little bit of magic!

The final location was Carver’s home, as they wanted to shoot a lovely bubble bath scene with champagne, as well as Carver getting ready and showing off her exquisite red dress designed by South African designers, LUNAR.

As the song lyrics echo Celebrate this moment, this is happening. Now we take it outside, sip the champagne unwind. No more stress, let it rest, did your best, people laughing,” and isn’t that what life should be all about?

With live music in full swing again, fans will also be excited to see Carver back on stage across the country as she embarks on a tour in celebration of her ‘Take My Hand’ single.
