Packing up and leaving the past behind is not always easy. Fransien Scott has, however, learned that sometimes it is inevitable and that you have to push through to get to the other side. And that is the message she wants to convey with her latest single, KONINKRYK VAN BETON.
“I have moved around a lot over the past twenty years and wrote the song to try and capture the emotions I have been experiencing during this time,” she explains about the inspiration behind this captivating pop track.
The song has a catchy tune that immediately gets stuck in your head and appeals to anyone who has ever had to let go of the past. “I like writing about meaningful subjects that inspire others. Letting go of possessions, friends and family, or simply trying to fit in in a new environment can be very hard and I wanted to explore these emotions in a song.”
As with her previous singles, this one also boasts a beautiful music video filmed in the Algarve in Portugal. “I wanted to use symbols to represent different phases of our lives. Toys and bears are symbolic of our childhood, the trophies of our achievements and the dress of our material possessions,” she says. “The video describes how we carry all of these things with us by dragging it along in a coffin behind us. Finally, it becomes time to free ourselves from the past in order to move forward… just like the character in the video does when she embarks on a new adventure.”

KONINKRYK VAN BETON follows in the footsteps of her previous singles, Staan Reg and Roei, which both featured on major local radio stations.
Fransien grew up in a musical home and worked as a teacher after school before moving overseas with her husband.
She currently works in property development and is busy renovating a Portuguese home in the Algarve.
In her free time, she continues creating new music and enjoys making a difference with her women’s ministry, KeeperSoul.
