BLAIR TABERER RELEASES MUSIC VIDEO FOR DEBUT SINGLE, ‘WILD ONES’
Blair Taberer, an emerging local singer-songwriter, has shared the music video for his debut single, ‘Wild Ones’ off his highly anticipated debut album, ‘Atlantic’, is set for release on October 28th.
“Working on the music video was an exhilarating experience,” Blair explains. “Marked by the challenges of battling 80km/h wind gusts, relentless rain, and bone-chilling cold weather. These elements, though wild, added an authentic and immersive dimension to the project, making it one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life.”. Collaborating with one of the top production talents in the industry, Blair enlisted the help of Justine Patterson as the director, Jo Galloway as the producer, and Chad Schwartz as the Director of Photography (DOP). “Together, we aimed to bring a world-class product to life.”
When asked about the concept of the music video, Blair shared, “The concept behind the music video was to depict an escape from life’s struggles into an alternate reality of freedom, perfectly complementing the song’s lyrics. This escape is embodied by three characters, each representing aspects of the working world, who ultimately find themselves immersed in the untamed wilderness—a journey we captured vividly on a production level.” The project came to life and exceeded all expectations, Blair shares, “We delivered a powerful and cohesive storyline with a captivating twist at the end, truly bringing the concept to life in an exceptional way.”
Taberer’s lead single, “Wild Ones,” is a testament to his unique songwriting prowess and the album’s central theme. Drawing inspiration from the vastness of the Atlantic Ocean that connects continents and stories, “Wild Ones” transports listeners to a world of escapist fantasy where desires are fulfilled and captures the essence of the album’s themes.
Reflecting on his musical journey, Taberer shares, “The album ‘Atlantic’ is a collection of poems, stories, thoughts and messages I wrote over the last 10 years. There’s an immense vulnerability that comes with the realisation that I’m about to publicise all my journal entries. But sometimes it’s the fear that makes you feel most alive. This project has been a labor of love for me, a journey of amalgamating my life experiences with my wild imagination and using the entire musical process to convey that feeling.”
The release of “Atlantic” on October 28th will mark a significant milestone in Blair Taberer’s musical journey. Between the release of ‘Wild Ones’ now and another favourite single of his, “The City” set for release on October 15th, the album promises an emotive experience that music enthusiasts won’t want to miss.
