In a heartwarming display of unity and compassion, Rosebank Mall‘s 5KM Pink Run, held in partnership with the CANSA Organisation, left a trail of inspiration and hope as it unfolded on a beautiful morning in the heart of Rosebank.

Muhammad Varachia, General Manager of Rosebank Mall, shared his sentiments: “We are deeply grateful and profoundly honoured for the opportunity to raise both funds and awareness for breast cancer. We want to express our deepest gratitude to each and every person who attended and took part in this extraordinary event. Your presence, enthusiasm, and unwavering commitment were the driving forces behind the day’s remarkable achievements. Together, we painted Rosebank pink, a vibrant reminder that love and compassion can truly change the world.”

Rosebank Mall is a vibrant shopping and lifestyle destination located in the heart of Rosebank, dedicated to enhancing the community’s well-being and bringing people together in the spirit of love and compassion. With over 1000 attendees who laced up their running shoes and donned shades of pink on Saturday, 28 October 2023, the inaugural Pink Run was a resounding success. Their unwavering support and participation filled the Rosebank streets with an indomitable spirit of camaraderie, love, and empathy – the personification of the ‘Power of Pink’. Rosebank Mall cannot thank each and every participant enough for partnering with us on this remarkable journey towards a brighter future for cancer warriors.

The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the heartfelt moment when we handed over a generous contribution of R50,000.00 to the CANSA Organisation. This donation will play a pivotal role in supporting breast cancer awareness and the incredible work that CANSA does. It is through these acts of kindness that we can truly make a difference in the lives of those affected by this disease.

The 5km fun run/walk, which started on Bath Avenue and culminated on Cradock Avenue atop the Rosebank Mall rooftop, brought together runners/ walkers of all ages and backgrounds. But the event was more than just a race; it was a celebration of life, resilience, and togetherness. The Rosebank Mall Wellness Expo, complete with Reiki healing, served as a soothing sanctuary for participants, providing a holistic approach to well-being.

Ster-Kinekor brought smiles and delight with slushies and popcorn, adding an extra layer of joy to the event. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Boston City Campus for generously sponsoring the medals, making each participant feel like a true champion. In addition, we want to express our sincere appreciation to Woolworths for their generous contribution of 150 two-litre bottles of Coke, which added a refreshing touch to our event and further enhanced the experience for our participants.

In a world where unity and compassion hold immeasurable power, Rosebank Mall, in collaboration with CANSA, is humbled by the incredible turnout and support from the community. Together, we are creating ripples of hope and making a difference in the fight against breast cancer.
