Known for his mastery of Amapiano dance mixes, DJ Stokie has created a distinctive sound that is deep, feel-good, and soulful. ABOUT
DJ Stokie whose real name is SetokiMbatha started his career in the 90’s from his room in Mzimhlophe. The self-taught music maestro is inspired by the likes of Soweto’s top DJ’s; Mpopo,Fetsi, Ma-Leven, Mahlomola, Mdoo, amongst others. Stokie’s success traces backto 2006 when he became a finalist in the Mad Half Hour, a feature on Joburg’s popular youth station, YFM. The station’s listeners were inspired by his piano fingers and Stokie found himself gigging in townships across Johannesburg.
