How to use Bolt safety features this long weekend

Must read

Safety on ride-hailing services has always been a hot topic, and ensuring rider safety remains a top priority at Bolt. To uphold this commitment, Bolt has, over the past year, introduced several proactive safety measures on the platform. Below, we have listed some of our safety features in the safety toolkit, with tips on how to use them effectively when needed to have the best user experience when riding with Bolt.

Share Trip Details

Before entering the vehicle, share your trip details with friends or family. This includes the car’s make, model, registration number, and live location via a shareable link. This enables your loved ones to track your journey for peace of mind. The trip-sharing feature can be activated by tapping the share trip icon in the trip details once the trip is active.

In-App Emergency Assist Button

In case of emergencies, utilise the in-app Emergency Assist button to promptly alert private armed response teams and emergency medical rescue services. This feature ensures timely assistance when riders or drivers require urgent help and can be accessed through the safety toolkit by tapping on the in-app button.

On-Trip Audio Recording

For added security, activate the On-Trip audio recording feature at any point during your trip through the safety toolkit by tapping on the record icon. This encrypted recording is stored within the app and automatically deleted after 24 hours to ensure privacy.

Trip Monitoring

Recently, Bolt introduced Trip Monitoring, which further enhances safety measures for riders and drivers. Trip Monitoring works by proactively engaging with riders and drivers in-app when a vehicle remains stationary for an extended period. To use this feature, no action is required; Bolt will activate a prompt for you to check if everything is okay, and you will be required to click on the “Yes, I am okay button” should there be no concern.

Riders are reminded never to take offline trips, as safety features are inaccessible. Moreover, investigations can become challenging in the case of any issues. Always ensure your trips are conducted using the Bolt app.

Bolt also offers round-the-clock customer support accessible through the Bolt app or via phone. If riders encounter any concerns or queries during their trip, they are advised to reach out to dedicated customer support for prompt assistance.

Remember that all app users have access to Bolt Trip Protection cover, providing comprehensive insurance coverage against unexpected injuries, medical expenses, and hospital stays. By understanding how all safety features work riders will be able to utilise Bolt’s safety features effectively to enjoy a safe and reliable ride experience on the Bolt platform.
