Chicco, Mia Moretti “I Need Some Money”
Hot on the heels of releasing a DJ MINX rework of her hit single “Piano de la Selva,” and just in time for her debut Coachella performance, DJ and producer Mia Moretti shares her latest single, “I Need Some Money.” The track serves as a refresh to the 1986 record from South African singer and producer Chicco. “I Need Some Money” fuses the original spirit of the ’80s classic hit with a modern and playful dance beat, giving a second life to the iconic track nearly forty years after its initial release. The upbeat sample, often referred to as “bubblegum” or “boogie,” pushes the track forward with a tried and true solid groove that is just as ready for the dance floor as it was ever. ” I Need Some Money” is due for release on Friday, April 12th via Universal South Africa and Spaghetti Moretti Records.

Since solidifying her position as an unstoppable force in the DJ scene, Mia Moretti has recently forged into production and launched her label, Spaghetti Moretti Records, which housed her debut EP ‘TAMBOR’ as well as remixes from some of house music’s finest, including Malóne, KILIMANJARO, and, most recently, DJ MINX. Moretti will be making her Coachella debut at the DoLab stage on Sunday, 4/14. The day before, on Saturday, 4/13, Moretti will take over the decks along with Bicep, Barry Can’t Swim, Busy P (Ed Banger Records), and Salute at the Goldenvoice Surf Club where she will rinse “Money” live in all of its glory.

Starting her career on Los Angeles’ legendary Sunset Strip, Moretti developed a keen sonic curiosity. After moving to New York’s Lower East Side, she found herself at the forefront of a DJ revolution, in which her career trajectory quickly propelled.
