A mysterious new sixt-meter sculpture has appeared along the N3 southbound, just past Nottingham Road, capturing the attention of passersby and sparking a flurry of speculation on social media.
The sculpture, resembling a face, has left commuters, travellers and online observers intrigued, with one person asking, “Can anyone explain the recent appearance of the sculpture of a ‘face’ visible from the southbound highway, just after the Nottingham Road interchange?”
Another observer likened it to a gargoyle, suggesting it might have been used to “spew water” and ward off dragons and other evils, while yet another described it as “cross, ugly, and very scary.”
Orrin Cottle from Brahman Hills, home to luxury accommodation and international award-winning gardens, released a statement on social media shedding some light on the mystery. “After months of reported sightings in the area, it has now been confirmed that we have what appears to be a giant living right under our hill!”
Cottle continued, “We don’t know much about him and are too scared to ask. He just showed up one misty morning, his enormous head halfway emerged from the hillside, ominously peering at the freeway and his home at Giants Castle.”
Legends surrounding giants suggest they sleep underground for centuries, emerging suddenly to reset the balance of nature when mankind’s actions threaten it. According to Cottle, experts believe the sculpture may represent a scout sent to observe human behaviour and its impact on the environment.
To add to the intrigue, he shares that they have made yet another astonishing discovery – Medusa in an underground grotto and explains the tale surrounding this mythical creature: “According to legend, Medusa was once a beautiful maiden cursed by the gods, turning her into a hideous creature with snakes for hair, and whose gaze would turn any who looked at her to stone.”
Cottle says that locals, passersby and holidaymakers are invited to stop at Brahman Hills to come and see the mysterious giant and Medusa first-hand. “We would love you to come and check out our giant and while you are here, explore Medusa’s grotto as well, but please remember not to get too close and aggravate him and whatever you do, avoid eye contact with her [Medusa]”, he concludes.
