TATJANA SMITH RETURNS TO A HERO’S WELCOME

SA Swimming champ returns from the 2024 Paris Olympics with a golden moment upon arrival

South African swimming sensation and Olympic double medalist, Tatjana Smith, arrived back to a hero’s welcome at O.R. Tambo International today, complete with a special welcome celebration from Corona Cero, the official beer partner to the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

Now South Africa’s most decorated Olympian, Tatjana took gold in the nail-biting women’s 100m breaststroke and silver in the 200m breaststroke events at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

“It’s good to be home! It is so special to get back home and celebrate with the rest of my village. Having my family with me in Paris was amazing, now, it is so special to be back so that I can celebrate with my fellow South African community as my Olympic success is for us all!” said Tatjana upon arrival this morning.

Tatjana is also part of the Corona Cero South Africa Athletes group, which includes fellow swimming legend Chad Le Clos, track stars Wayde van Niekerk and Akani Simbine and surfers Sarah Baum, and Matthew Macgillivray. This group, supported by SAB’s Corona Cero through their association with SASCOC, embodies the pursuit of “Golden Moments” in South African sports.

As the first ever official beer partner of the Olympic & Paralympic games, Corona Cero’s “For Every Golden Moment” platform celebrates the golden moments of the games while reminding the world to embrace and enjoy their own golden moments occurring in life. This marked the launch of the no-alcohol brand’s inaugural Olympic Games activation since AB InBev was announced as the first beer sponsor at the Worldwide Olympic Partner level.
