Light Garden on the Square, Photos with Santa and Mirror Illusion Maze
Johannesburg, December 2024: Bedford Centre in Johannesburg is delighted to announce an exciting lineup of activities for the upcoming festive season, all celebrating the heartwarming theme “Home for the Holidays.” The delightful festivities capture the essence of togetherness and celebration, and invite locals and visitors alike to immerse themselves in the joy of the season.
Festive light garden and photos with Santa
Epitomizing the holiday charm, Bedford will be unveiling its first Light Garden on the Square, an illuminated outdoor display in the Piazza area, perfect for festive selfies and capturing special moments under the glow of holiday lights. Shoppers will also be captivated by an 8-metre LED Twinkly Motion Changing Tree at the parking level on the corner of Smith and Kirby Roads. This mesmerizing spectacle will light up the season, beaming with holiday cheer.
For families eager to capture holiday memories, Santa will be available for photos daily from 6 to 24 December, set against a beautifully decorated backdrop next to the grand Christmas tree in the centre court. Children can look forward to a delightful Christmas story reading event at Exclusive Books, where enchanting tales will spark young imaginations from 20 – 24 December, daily at 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM.
Exciting, mind-bending entertainment
From 10 December, visitors will have the chance to explore a Mirror Illusion Maze, an immersive experience featuring mirrors, reflections, and lights. Guests will get to navigate this mind bending, exciting experience using pool noodles, while questioning reality for a moment in this interactive world.
For thrill-seekers, Bedford’s Gel Gun Wars and #Escape Room Experience provide exciting entertainment. At Bedford’s Gel Gun Wars, participants can engage in fast-paced, adrenaline-filled battles using eco-friendly gel blasters, perfect for friendly competition with a dash of adrenalin. In the #Escape Room Experience, which is located at Bedford Square next to George’s Grill House, participants face challenging puzzles and work against the clock to unlock clues, making it a thrilling test of teamwork, problem-solving, and quick thinking… in order to escape!
Gift shopping, wrapping and extended trading hours
For those looking to elevate their celebrations with festive decor, additional to Bedford’s 170 stores, a Christmas Pop-Up Shop will open its doors from 1 November to 24 December. Here, shoppers can browse a curated collection of decor pieces and festive trees, ensuring their homes are filled with the most magical Christmas décor.
To make holiday preparations easier, the mall will host gift-wrapping stations from 12 to 24 December at two convenient spots: in the centre court near Cape Union Mart and in the Bedford Square opposite Sorbet. Donations made in lieu of wrapping gifts, will go toward the Educare Foundation, enabling shoppers to give back to the community while enjoying beautifully wrapped gifts.
Finding the perfect gift takes time, so Bedford will be offering extended trading hours from 17 – 20 December, when most stores in the centre will be open from 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM to ensure everyone has the time they need to shop their hearts out, while enjoying the splendour of the season.
