‘For nearly two decades, the Nedbank Cup has been more than just a tournament—it’s been a springboard for unearthing exceptional football talent and driving meaningful change in South African communities,’ says Khensani Nobanda, Group Executive for Marketing and Corporate Affairs at Nedbank. ‘Over the past 17 years, we’ve awarded over R200 million in prize money, built 9 multipurpose sports courts worth R20 million cumulatively, and birthed the likes of current Mamelodi Sundowns player Aubrey Modiba and Orlando Pirates forward Zakhele Lepasa among others who have also represented the national team, Bafana Bafana. As the longest standing supporter of South African football, Our partnership with the PSL is a testament to our commitment to nurturing talent and creating opportunities on and off the pitch.’

In 2024, Ke Yona, Ya Rona successfully highlighted the power of football to unite fans and communities while driving opportunities for fans to experience the Nedbank Cup like never before, through weekly rewards and exclusive fan experiences at the Ya Rona House. It not only resonated across South Africa; it reinforced Nedbank’s role in growing the game both on and off the field.

This year Nedbank is evolving that legacy by introducing Goals vs Saves – taking fan engagement a step further and turning iconic football moments into opportunities to get real rewards.

Goals vs Saves brings a fresh and rewarding experience for fans during the 2025 Nedbank Cup tournament. Every goal scored adds R20 000 to the prize pool, and every save made adds R10 000. At the end of each tournament round, the accumulated total will be shared among randomly selected Nedbank MiGoals Plus and JustSave accountholders.

‘With this year’s Goals vs Saves competition, we are taking fan engagement to a new level – celebrating every goal and save while rewarding the very people who make football so special – the fans. Ke Yona, Ya Rona – it truly belongs to all of us,’ says Nobanda.

Fans can win their share by opening or transacting on a qualifying account and registering at nedbankcup.co.za. Every goal and save not only fuels the action on the pitch, but also brings fans closer to a cash payday!

This year, Goals vs Saves reflects Nedbank’s ongoing commitment to innovation, fan inclusion, and celebrating football as a sport for all. The 2025 Nedbank Cup promises unforgettable football, groundbreaking fan engagement, and opportunities to celebrate South Africa’s football heritage.
