Our fundraising event was most spectacular and a huge success thanks to the wonderful contributions of our supporters. We cannot thank you enough for your generosity. It is what makes Wheel Well so special and our fundraising events outstanding.

The evening in a nutshell: A Night at the Races is a “mock” horse race event where we raise funds by selling race naming rights, horses and jockeys. Videos of actual races are shown with live comments by a professional commentator. Bets are made on your favorite horses and of course you loudly spur on your horse to win.

Our theme this year was Under an African Sky. TNT Events did our décor and Tammy has outdone herself again with her interpretation of the theme. The venue at Randpark Golf Club was decked out in splendid sunset tones and back drops depicting an African sunset. Blast Entertainment added to the magic of the evening with their seamless audio-visual presentation, lively foot tapping music and lighting that brought the décor to life. Nico Kritsiotis, a professional race commentator of many year’s experience, did not bat an eye lid nor stumble over the tongue twisting and very funny names of the horses, jockeys or races. It was like being at a real race event, only much more fun!

Events like these are made possible by amazing and most generous support. Thank yous from the bottom of our hearts go out to:

  • Randpark Golf Club that waived the venue fee and joined us on the evening. The food was amazing.
