Tzaneen-born hitmaker, Dr Skaro is helping the country leave its Januworries behind with a new song that is dedicated to anybody who is struggling to get their cashflow together. The song, titled Akena Selo, is now available for streaming on all platforms and is the DJ’s first big hit of the new year.
Dr Skaro ended 2023 on a strong note after releasing one of the biggest club bangers of the festive season, Moruti. He’s now followed that up with Akena Selo, another vibrant song with a compassionate meaning.
With many across South Africa struggling to make ends meet but still dreaming of a brighter future for themselves, Dr Skaro has shared an anthem that will help them persevere until better times.
Speaking about the new single, Dr Skaro explained “There is nothing tougher than not having money and wanting to be there for those who are close to you. Akena Selo is here to help people remember that the tough times will not last, and you can get through.
Born in Tzaneen, Limpopo in 1999, Dr Skaro (real name, Karabo Modikwa) has been involved with music ever since he was a child. Fast forward to the present, and he’s one of the most exciting young DJs on the scene and has worked with some of the country’s biggest names. In 2023, he teamed up with Prince Benza and Rise Teanet for their smash hit, AE Enough, which dominated charts and got plenty of airplay from local radio stations.
