Australia’s foreign minister has tweeted an unusual request to the people of Australia.
Julie Bishop lost her pearl earring in between television interviews Monday morning in Sydney’s Martin Place and used the social network to try and find the missing jewel.
With a tweet showing a photo of her Sky News interview this morning, sans earring, Bishop requested Australians call her office if they have spotted it.
Hi Twitter I lost earring in Martin Place today – if found grateful contact me

The foreign minister is getting used to her new-found medium of Twitter. Recently, she discovered emojis and had a grand old time tweeting out emoji stories to anyone who would listen.
Now it seems she has discovered Twitter can be an awesome crowd-sourcing platform. Bishop is yet to be reunited with her pearl, but many followers are attempting to help in the search.
@JulieBishopMP Sorry Julie, there this morning didn't see it. Maybe we can get another one, or you could start a new trend wearing only one

@notGareth @paulch_6 @JulieBishopMP I found an earing, you can find it at a Kings Cross pawnbroker. They gave me $2.50 for it.
