At the same time, they have a more feminine yellow, purple, pink, pale pink, green and black for the female superheroes.
On the collection, Theo Baloyi, founder of the brand, said: “We have always been in the kiddies market, but we have always wanted to create something exciting for the little ones. Starting this journey with such an incredible kid like SuperMash is exciting. The shoe has an incredible story behind it.”
Prince Mashawana, better known as SuperMash, is Africa’s first black child superhero. He is also the youngest ever to do a Tedx Talk in the world. SuperMash fights all of the challenges young children face worldwide, like bullying, domestic violence, abuse, substance abuse etc.
When SuperMash puts on his Bathu x SuperMash sneakers, his superpowers activate. SuperMash and Bathu have made these special shoes available for all the children of the world to wear so that they can also become superheroes.
“You can be your hero. Just wear your Bathu x SuperMash sneakers, and you can change the world.” Says SuperMash.
The sneakers are available on the Bathu website and will be rolled out into all the stores over the next few weeks. SuperMash will be doing a roadshow and various activities in Bathu stores around the country.
