The woman who was arrested for allegedly trying to extort R100 000 from DJ Black Coffee with a clip showing him having sex with a fan, was granted bail of R1 000.
Her parents paid her bail at the Midrand Magistrates’ Court and the case has been postponed, City Press reported.
“The girl’s parents came on Friday afternoon with her ID and proof of address. She was given bail of R1 000, which her parents paid. She was released in the custody of her parents and her case was postponed,” said Hawks spokesperson Paul Ramaloko.
Ramaloko confirmed that the woman had been arrested for extortion last week Wednesday.
“She called Black Coffee and asked for R100 000. Black Coffee told her he could only pay her R20 000. She agreed to meet Black Coffee’s manager (Fakazi Muziwenkosi) and was told to bring the sex tape with her in exchange for the money. We arrested her after she took the money for extortion,” said Ramaloko.

Sunday World reported on Sunday that the fan had left her cellphone with a woman, believed to be a friend, to go to the bathroom. During this time, the friend downloaded a clip of her friend and Black Coffee having sex. She also retrieved Black Coffee’s number from the phone.
The accused then called Black Coffee, who was away on a UK tour, to demand payment of R100 000.
Black Coffee, married to Rockville actress Mbali Mlotshwa, told her he could only afford to pay her R20 000 and asked Muziwenkosi to call the Hawks and report the attempted blackmail.
