Hailed as ‘the great lost band of the 90s’, the Black Grape live experience is a sonic rollercoaster of electrifying energy. When Shaun Ryder and Kermit take the stage, audiences can expect a performance that defies convention and transcends boundaries. With a blend of their latest hits and timeless classics, their shows are a journey through the evolution of British music.
Black Grape’s remarkable career has spanned more than two decades, making them an enduring force in the industry. Their debut album, “It’s Great When You’re Straight… Yeah,” stormed the UK charts, reaching No.1 and achieving Platinum status in 1995. The follow-up, “Stupid Stupid Stupid,” was equally successful, attaining Gold status in 1997.
In 2016, Black Grape reunited to create the anthemic “England Till I Die,” a football song that united European nations. This marked the beginning of a new era for the band, culminating in the release of “Pop Voodoo” in 2017, which received widespread acclaim for Shaun Ryder’s lyrical prowess and the band’s innovative sound.
“Orange Head” promises to continue Black Grape’s tradition of genre-blending, melding rock, hip-hop, acid house, psychedelic pop, and reggae with Shaun Ryder’s distinct vocal style. Fans can expect an album that encapsulates the essence of Black Grape while pushing musical boundaries.
Singles Milk and Pimp Wars set the stage for the diverse sonic journey that awaits.
Reflecting on the band’s legacy and the upcoming release, Shaun Ryder said, “”Black Grape has always been about pushing boundaries and defying expectations. ‘Orange Head’ is the next chapter in our musical journey, and it’s packed with the energy and innovation that our fans have come to expect.“
