Bonang Matheba is replacing South African comedian Trevor Noah as host of the sixth edition of the MTV Africa Music Awards Johannesburg 2016 (MAMA).
MTV today announced that Bonang Matheba would be hosting the MAMAs after Trevor Noah had to cancel his appearance due to health reasons.
“Due to the infection and strain on my vocal chords the doctor has ordered me to rest. I desperately wish I could dismiss the doctor but the added risk of flying means the decision would be highly irresponsible and may cause further damage.” he explained.
Bonang also took to her twitter account to confirmed the news, says she feels excited about the feature and thanked MTV for trusting her, says she is got just 24 hours to prepare.
