Twitter is down across the world.
Twitter is down for the count at the moment, with the service apparently suffering widespread problems on both mobile and desktop.
Twitter, the popular micro-blogging platform, appears to be down for users in South Africa and across the world. If you try and log into Twitter on desktop or have the site open, it is currently reflecting an error.
The Twitter error response page reads, “Something is technically wrong. Thanks for noticing—we’re going to fix it up and have things back to normal soon.” Twitter iOS app appears to be working, while the Android app is also loading fine.
The company confirmed on its status blog at 03:44AM ET that “some users are currently experiencing problems accessing Twitter,” and that it’s “working towards a resolution.” Trying to access the network over the web just returns the standard “something is technically wrong” error screen, and the service is also suffering outages on apps and software like TweetDeck.
“Some users are currently experiencing problems accessing Twitter. We are aware of the issue and are working towards a resolution,” Twitter said on its status board.
The service had previously gone down yesterday for about ten minutes – with Twitter saying that they had resolved that problem.
