The world-leading fashion and jewellery brands of Bond Street will come together with the Royal Academy of Arts for six weeks of art and culture in London’s Mayfair. Art in Mayfair, a celebration of Mayfair’s vibrant cultural scene, will run from 20 June – 31 July 2022.

This year Contemporary British artist Mali Morris RA has been invited to design the flags that will hang above Bond Street. Morris’s multi-layered canvases explore the language of painting and its ever-changing expressive possibilities. Her focus is colour, light and space. For her Art in Mayfair flag designs, Mali has worked carefully to scale, thinking about how the designs will read across the vast space of Bond Street. She has been conscious of how luminosity will open up the space of the street and is fascinated to see how her colours will move through space and transform with the real light of day, which is different every minute.

Bond Street will collaborate with the Royal Academy to showcase installations, pop-up events and dynamic activations that will transform the neighbourhood into a live exhibition in recognition of Mayfair’s rich art heritage. Bond Street and Mayfair’s most iconic brands and designers collaborate with artists to showcase their creativity and craftsmanship.

Participating brands include Louis Vuitton, Fendi and MaxMara, Pickett as well as jewellers’ Pomellato and the esteemed tailors of Savile Row such as Richard James, Dege & Skinner, Anderson & Sheppard, Henry Poole, and Cad and the Dandy, who will be showcasing works by a wide range of artists.

Art in Mayfair will also include the Mayfair Sculpture Trail, a collaboration with Mayfair Art Weekend, which offers an immersive art experience like no other, allowing the public to re-engage with art and explore both the temporary and permanent artworks on the streets of Mayfair.

The trail features an interactive outdoor exhibition of temporary sculptures presented by galleries participating in Mayfair Art Weekend, alongside permanent sculptures and public art situated in the iconic neighbourhood. The Mayfair Sculpture Trail will include works by Kojo Marfo (presented by JD Malat Gallery), David Breuer Weil (presented by E&R Cyzer), Andy Denzler and Lee Gil Rae (presented by Opera Gallery), Michael Speller (presented by Clarendon Fine Art), and Maurice Blik (presented by Bowman Sculpture). Spotlighted are favourite permanent installations around Mayfair from Banksy, Henry Moore, Elisabeth Frink, Anthony Gormley, and a new installation of sculpture by Jill Berelowitz at 45 Park Lane.
