JOHANNESBURG – The case against Czech fugitive Radovan Krejcir had to stand down on Monday afternoon after a security threat.
The South Gauteng High Court was still in sitting for his sentencing, when one of the policemen in the courtroom asked the judge to adjourn because of a bomb threat to the building.
Earlier in the day Krejcir, representing himself, appeared to be doing everything he could to have sentencing postponed.
He had applied for Judge Colin Lamont’s recusal, which was dismissed.
His request for a postponement to consult with a lawyer was also turned down.
This is the fifth attempt to complete sentencing proceedings in this matter.
