September 2024 – Bridges for Music, a renowned non-profit organization dedicated to empowering under-resourced communities through music and education and AlphaTheta the brand responsible for Pioneer DJ, held an alumni showcase in the heart of Cape Town that left attendees in awe. The event, a vibrant celebration of musical talent from Cape Town, brought together an eclectic mix of DJs, supporters, and donors to champion the transformative power of music.
Hosted at Villa Viva, the event featured a lineup of emerging DJs including – Rudy Julius, Schwelly M, Lee Mahabi, Doc Za and the headliner FKA Mash who took to the DJ booth with energetic performances that spanned a variety of genres. From deep house to Afro-fusion, the beats kept the audience dancing into the night, all while supporting a great cause.
The event showcased the incredible diversity and depth of musical talent in South Africa, with standout performances from local legends and young artists alike. Highlights included the headline set by FKA Mash, whose rhythmic grooves blended traditional African sounds with modern beats.
The performances were more than just entertainment – they were a testament to the core mission of Bridges for Music: to inspire, uplift, and empower marginalized communities through music. Each artist donated their time and talent, with the understanding that their performances would support Bridges for Music’s education initiatives, including their music and creative school in Langa township.

A Night to Remember
In addition to the unforgettable music, the event offered a wide array of immersive experiences. Attendees were treated to a VR DJ experience using Tribe software which brings Pioneer DJ products to life in a VR environment. The event was topped off with a grand finale DJ set from FKA Mash that had the entire venue pulsing with energy, making it a night that won’t soon be forgotten.
