This Mandela Day, Carnival City donated R12 500 towards the purchase of non-perishable foods for NPO Rise Against Hunger (RAH). On the day, one team of 18 volunteers from Carnival City travelled through to the food packing event at Midrand while another team from Carnival City and the Afrisun Trust visited the Impumelelo Home for Quadriplegics.
The home, which is located in Pollack Park in Springs, currently looks after seven permanent residents who come from as far afield as Limpopo and Mpumalanga. The team donated blankets, and linen from the Carnival City Hotel, while Rocco Mamas provided burgers, chips and cool drinks to make the say special.
