Accprding to Sunday World, reporting that Cassper Nyovest has been caught in a ‘bunch of lies.’ The multi-award winning star announced on Twitter last year that he bought his mother Mazuki Rebecca Phoolo a house.
Making the announcement on the social media network, Cassper wrote: “Drove home to surprise her with my new baby. The crib is also mine #HardworkPaysoff #DreamsMoneyCanBuy #SpprtsCar.
The Doc Shebeleza hitmaker, who once claimed to be raking in R1-million a month in royalties, also announced that he had acquired a luxury Mercedez-Benz mini bus as one of his toys and flaunted it on Twitter earlier this month.
Sunday World has now learnt, through concerned neighbours and industry insiders, that the house Cassper claimed he bought for his mother was actually bought by his parent 10 years ago.
According to information from the Deeds Office in Vryburg, the house was bought in 2005 for R76500 and registered in 2007.
The artist’s mother still lives in the same house and there are no records of a second property in her name.
It was also discovered during the Deeds Office search that the rapper had no property registered in his name.
The BMW 4 Series coupé was the only vehicle registered in his name, according to the government’s vehicle ownership database.
When Sunday World visited the muso’s mother this week in Unit 5 in Mahikeng, North West, she refused to discuss his claims with us.
“The person who showed you the house must show you where the other house is. This is a personal matter so I don’t want to comment about this because people have been writing lies about him. And I did not give birth to Cassper Nyovest but Refiloe,” he said.
Cassper could not be reached for comment by the time of going to press as his cellphone was off.
His manager T-Lee Moiloa said: “Why did you go to Cassper’s mother without checking with us if it was okay for you to do so? She is now in hospital suffering from depression as a result of your visit to her house. Something will happen to you. God will do something to you,” he said.
Moiloa claimed that the rapper’s words were misunderstood.
“If I drive an old car and it breaks down and I struggle to pay for it and somebody pays for me that person can say he bought the car for me without saying it literally. I’m not saying this is what happened in Cassper’s case. But my official comment is I don’t comment on Cassper’s personal life. I can only comment on his artistic work,” he said.
Cassper was recently in the news after winning the MTV Africa Music Award for best hip-hop artist.
A few days before he and his girlfriend Boity Thulo hogged the headlines after announcing they were “engaged” but later changed tune, saying he only asked her to be his girlfriend.
