Life-coaching has become the new profession in the last few years. We caught up with Razia Mohamed to find out more about her and her profession. Here is what she had to share.
How did you find yourself in this profession?
Life a moth to a flame? I was drawn towards helping people from a young age. I was always the go to person in my circle of friends whenever anyone needed advice or needed someone to listen. Along the way I have learnt skills that have helped me not only listen and advise, but also help productively. Life coaching is truly an empowering profession that helps me bring about change in everyone I consult with.
What is the one piece of advice that changed your life?
Be true to yourself. Always do what makes you happy first and then try to make those around you happy.
What do people need a life coach for?
Like sports athletes need a coach to help them reach their full potential in the chosen field of sport – through guidance, motivation or teaching skills / techniques, a life coach is there to help you reach your full potential in all aspects of your life – work, marriage, parenting – Everyone needs someone to help them tap into their inner superstar and bring it out. Using specific techniques, a life coach is able to guide you towards reaching goals in your life or help you to detox your life of negativity and enable you to be a better you. The list is endless …

Women who rise above their circumstance and succeed in doing the impossible. Oprah Winfrey is one such woman.
What is the your biggest issues you’ve seen in South Africa?
Poverty, lack of education and resources, women being abused
What advice do you have for all Women this Womans day?
Never give up, never lose hope. Believe in yourself
The strongest actions for a woman are to love herself, be herself and believe in herself. Women can do anything they believe in, they just have to believe in themselves.
