Versatile singer-songwriter Clinton Viljoen returns with his latest single, Waiting, a soulful and heartfelt track that is perfect for that Valentine’s Day playlist. Infused with emotion and a deeply personal touch, “This song resonates deeply with me because it reflects my own love story,” Clinton shares. “The lyrics come from a personal place, and I hope listeners can take bits and pieces from Waiting and apply them to their own lives. Produced by Sleek Productions in collaboration with Kinetic Torch and Chadwin Alexander, with songwriting contributions from Keanu Cole Adams (One half of SA’s brother-duo Keenan x Keanu), Waiting captures Clinton’s signature sound while offering a fresh take on love and devotion. The single also marks the first glimpse into his upcoming EP, set for release in 2025, a project that promises five carefully curated tracks, including three exciting collaborations.

Born and raised in Ravensmead, Cape Town, Clinton’s musical journey has been marked by notable achievements. He was the runner-up at the “Voice of Choice” competition in 2003 and has released previous singles, such as “Just in Case” and “Appreciate.” Clinton has also collaborated with artists like DJ Keith and DJ Jazzy D, earning acclaim in the Cape Town jazz scene. Furthermore, he was one of the lead vocalists for the gospel group “New Birth” and performed with the jazz band N2. His inspirations range from legends like Brian McKnight and Stevie Wonder to his mentor, Edward Adams.
