The combined efforts of Fidelity ADT, Tshwane Metro police K-9 Unit, SAPS and other security companies has led to the arrest of two suspects and the recovery of stolen motorbikes.
Just two weeks ago Fidelity ADT issued a warning to Centurion residents regarding an identified trend of high end motorbikes being targeted.
In the early hours of this morning (10 April) Fidelity ADT successfully executed a joint operation and assisted in the arrest of the suspects who have allegedly been involved in the theft of motorbikes in the Centurion and surrounding areas.
Charnel Hattingh, Group Head of Marketing & Communications for Fidelity ADT, says “The team received an alert that an unknown number of suspects were in the process of breaking into commercial and residential property stealing bikes in the Elarduspark area.
Responding immediately, using the intelligence provided, the suspects vehicles were spotted travelling towards Nelmapius road on the M57. A short chase ensued, and the suspects were successfully stopped and apprehended on Delmas Road on the R50.
Suspects were handed over to Lyttelton SAPS. Two stolen motorbikes & Cell phones were recovered. Equipment used for break–ins was also found in their possession.
The suspects and vehicles were positively linked to multiple cases of Motorcycle theft and other crimes committed in the Lyttelton, WierdaPark & Elarduspark areas.
This close collaboration with SAPS, tracking companies and security companies once again highlights the importance of all stakeholders working together to fight crime. I commend our team for their swift action. We will continue to work together to send a strong message that lawlessness will not be tolerated,” concludes Hattingh.
