CMC Networks Achieves B-BBEE Level 1 Status in South Africa for the Third Year Running

The company has been awarded the highest level that can be achieved by an organisation, with a score of 120+ on the B-BBEE scorecard

Johannesburg, South Africa, 28th February 2023 – CMC Networks, a global Tier 1 service provider, has achieved the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) Level 1 status in South Africa for the third year running. B-BBEE is a policy framework in South Africa aimed at addressing the country’s historic economic imbalances, by promoting economic transformation and increasing participation of black people in the economy.

CMC Networks has been awarded the highest level that can be achieved by an organisation, with a score of 120+ on the B-BBEE scorecard. This measures levels of compliance across Ownership, Management Control, Skills Development, Enterprise & Supplier Development and Socio-Economic Development.

“We are very proud that CMC Networks has achieved B-BBEE Level 1 status for the third year running,” said Marisa Trisolino, CEO at CMC Networks. “It’s a significant milestone for our organisation, and a testament to our ongoing commitment to meet our transformation objectives. We will continue to support all stakeholders in the environment in which we operate.”

The Level 1 B-BBEE status provides benefits to multiple stakeholders, including CMC Networks’ customers in terms of procurement spend. Employees benefit from skills development opportunities, and investors have increased environmental, social, and governance (ESG) assurance. For the wider society, community development and youth employment opportunities are accelerated.

“We believe in providing equal opportunities for everyone. Our Skills Development initiatives help us to recruit and develop top talent across South Africa, including career pathways for unemployed graduates and people with disabilities. We put emphasis on leadership development, mentoring, employee bursaries, learnerships, internships, and working student bursaries,” added Trisolino. “We are making significant investments in all these areas and playing our part in promoting transformation across South Africa.”
