The comedian Toll Ass Mo who was alleged of attempted murder, malicious damage to property and intimidation july this year by James French. Agreed to issue a public apology as a result of his action.
Tol Ass Mo alleged that French called him the k-word in Melville, Joburg in July.
Yesterday the comedian agreed to issue a public apology at a meeting at the Human Rights Commission’s office in Braamfontein, Joburg.
Speaking to Daily Sun, Tol Ass Mo said the issue was the result of a very unfortunate misunderstanding.
“We were in a heated argument and it resulted in us saying regrettable words to each other.I’ve learned so much from French about maturity and a number of other things,” he added.
An apology released by the pair read: “We wish we could take back everything that happened on that evening but we cannot. What that leaves us, however, is the opportunity to apply all the important lessons that we have learned since.”
Human Rights Commission spokesman Isaac Mangena said the commission considered the matter closed and urged the public to accept their apology.
“The commission received two complaints but both parties worked together to come this far. They’ve shown remorse and have reconciled with each other,” said Mangena.
Tol Ass Mo’s apology comes a day before his third scheduled court appearance at Newlands Magistrates Court.
