Constance Festival Culinaire 2024
The prestigious gastronomic competition returns for its 17th edition!
26 February 2024, Mauritius — An intense gourmet week takes place from 08 to 16 March 2024 at Constance Belle Mare Plage and Constance Prince Maurice in Mauritius. Since 2006, Constance Festival Culinaire has become a highlight on the international culinary calendar, attracting epicureans from across the world. Throughout the week, renowned Michelin-starred chefs and pastry experts will be paired with Constance Hotels & Resorts’ chefs from the hotel group’s various properties in Mauritius, Maldives and the Seychelles.
In this special 17th edition of the festival, we are thrilled to announce a new addition, Régis Marcon, the esteemed and renowned French Chef who holds three Michelin stars. He will serve on the jury for our culinary contest, now named the Régis Marcon Trophy. Chef Marcon will join the well-known Pierre Hermé, an icon of French patisserie. As in previous years, the programme will include an exciting series of contests and events. Participants can look forward to competing in four main competitions:

· Pierre Hermé Trophy
· Jars Art of the Table Trophy
The festival celebrates the spirit of sharing and friendship, bringing together professionals and enthusiasts who share a true passion for fine dining and exquisite desserts.

For this 17th edition, 1 Michelin Star chefs from around the globe will travel to Mauritius to participate in the event:
· Chef Bin Wang – China
· Chef Robert Chambers – UK
· Chef Thomas Sjogren – Sweden
· Chef Yohann Chapuis – France
· Chef Mathieu Martin – France
· Chef Maurizio Oster – Germany
The jury for both trophies will be made up of, among others; Patrick Bertron (2 Michelin star Chef), Orjan Johannessen (Bocuse D’or winner of 2015), Sebastian Gibrand (Bocuse d’Argent 2019), Benjamin Gallein (2 Michelin star Chef).
Constance Pastry Competition: Pierre Hermé Trophy
For this 2024 edition, six top pastry chefs have been selected to create some sweet, delectable innovations.
· Jean Michel Perruchon – Meilleur Ouvrier de France
· Ophélie Barès – Pastry Chef, France
· Germain Decreton – Pastry Chef Le Jules Verne , France
· Lok Hin Yam – Executive Pastry Chef from Macau
· Fabrizio Fiorani – 2019 Asia’s Best Pastry Chef, Italy
· Marc Ducobu – Pâtisserie Ducobu, Belgium
The jury will comprise of patisserie chefs Pierre Hermé, Frédéric Cassel (Maison Frederic Cassel, Fontainebleu) and Mercotte (the famous TV host and culinary blogger).
This year’s festival will include four main competitions, eight special dinners and three masterclasses, which will be held at Constance Belle Mare Plage and Constance Prince Maurice over the week-long culinary festival. Once again, we are inviting all Constance fans and culinary lovers to be part of this delicious event. The photos of the four main competitions will be available on our website and everyone will be able to vote for the winning dishes or tables, both based on their visual presentation. Winners of the different competitions will be announced at the awards ceremony on 16 March.
