AN ANC councillor in North West was caught slumped and naked on the floor in the arms of a sex worker after allegedly having sex at the Mahikeng municipality offices.

An ANC councillor, who is also a member of one of the mayoral committees, was returning from a council meeting on the day.

According to a municipal employee who was with him after the meeting, the councillor had whiskey and drove to Tillard Street where he allegedly picked up a sex worker. He then proceeding to his workplace where upon arrival he told security guards he was there to pick up his laptop.

The guard apparently refused to let the woman through as she was not authorised to enter the building at that time of night.

According to another employee, who is also a councillor, it was just after 10pm. “He threatened the security guards and went to his office with the woman,” a councillor working close with him said.

He said after an hour, the security guard became suspicious and went up to check on the pair.

On arrival he knocked at the door but no one opened. He then sneaked in through a glass door.

He saw them sleeping on the floor naked, with the councillor’s condom still on his penis.

“The poor security guard then took a picture as proof, planning to show it to his senior. But he was told to keep quiet and was later sacked for reporting the incident. He then sent the picture to me,” another councillor said.

The security guard did not realise that the sex worker was not asleep at that time. “The security guard said after seeing the flash light of his cellphone camera, the woman stood up and tried waking the councillor up.

“The angry councillor, who had too much to drink, started mocking the security guard and threatened him.”

Sowetan called the councillor, who denied the incident. “That is not true, I will take legal action against those people who told you that,” the councillor said.

Mahikeng local municipality spokesman Khumalo Molefe said the municipality has not received a record of such a report. “Until we get that, we will treat that as a rumour. We further advise anybody who has information to report it to the speaker’s office.”
