Cristiano Ronaldo’s wages in Juventus is more than three times the next best paid player in the league.
The Portuguese has failed to justify that premium in the early stages of his time in Turin since an £88m move from Real Madrid.
The 33-year-old is goalless in three Serie A outings, though Massimiliano Allegri’s side are perfect with three wins.
Ronaldo has struggled since his arrival in Italy, failing to find the back of the net for his new club. He has attempted the most shots of any player in Europe so far this season, with an average of 7.7 shots per game.
His current salary makes him one of the highest paid footballers in the world and is even more extraordinary when sponsorship deals, image rights, and other streams of income are considered. The revelation of his income in Italy also makes him the best-paid player to ever play in Serie A.
Ronaldo picks up a massive €31m (£28m) after tax per year, report Gazzetta dello Sport, roughly £538,000 per week, dwarfing his fellow players in Italy.
The next highest salary is Gonzalo Higuain, who now picks up €9.5m (£8.6m) per year (approximately £165,000 per week) after his move to AC Milan from Juventus.
In fact, only three non-Juventus players make up the highest paid line-up in the league. Milan’s Gianluigi Donnarumma (€6m/year) and Kwadwo Asamoah (€3m) of Inter.

Although, it is still very early for Ronaldo’s Juventus career but the fans and the club management are expecting to see a return on their huge outlay soon.
Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri also leads the way as the best-paid manager with earnings of €7.5m (£6.75m) a year. Carlo Ancelotti (Napoli) and Luciano Spalletti (Inter) are his closest competitors.
