Oscar Pistorius has arrived in court to learn if he will finally be jailed for killing his model girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp as a judge prepares to announce the Blade Runner’s sentence for culpable homicide.
Steenkamp was shot through the locked toilet door of the athlete’s Pretoria home on Valentine’s Day last year.
The Paralympian could be sentenced to up to 15 years in prison or he could be handed a community-based punishment and a fine for shooting the model four times through a toilet cubicle door in his home.
More than seven months after Pistorius’s trial started, Judge Thokozile Masipa will announce what punishment she has decided on after finding him guilty of culpable homicide, which is comparable to manslaughter, but acquitting him of murder.
