David Beckham stopped off for breakfast at Morrison’s café in Weymouth, and brightened up a few supermarket cashiers’ day by giving them a few winks.
Becks was heading on an early fishing trip with his 16-year-old son Brooklyn for the day, so the group needed to line their stomachs before they set off and popped into the café.
Store manager John Volney said: “There were a couple of customers in store at the time – they were all really shocked to see him and immediately started Tweeting about it – that’s when it went wild on social media.
“I also put a post up on Facebook, but none of my followers would believe that he was actually here!”
“I was just so surprised, this guy is a global superstar – I thought my goodness, the most popular person on the planet is in our store! David walked out of the store and winked at a few of the cashiers, before saying ‘it was a great, breakfast – have a great day!’”
Lynne Docherty, who works in the M Café, said: “When I saw David come in to the store, I was so shocked that I did a double take!
