David Beckham celebrates his 40th birthday today and decided to mark the occasion by joining Instagram.
The footballing legend posted a sexy selfie this morning showing him lying in bed with his shirt off with the caption “Good morning and hello! It’s great to finally be on Instagram, been a long time coming but I can’t wait to start sharing all my special moments with you.
“Thank you for all your birthday messages so far. Looking forward to a great day with friends and family x”
After only a few hours and just one post, he had attracted 718k followers.
David Beckham and his wife Victoria Beckham and their 4children boarded a private plane to celebrate David’s 40th birthday today with his close friends and loving family. Their exotic destination is the luxury Amanjena Resort near Marrakesh, which holds symbolic value to the couple as they renewed their marriage vows there in 2004.
Victoria shared a sweet snap of herself with the birthday boy on her own Instagram page, posing in front of their large private jet after their long-haul flight to the African country.
‘So excited to be celebrating David’s birthday x #DB40 x vb,’ she wrote along with the snap.
She stuck to using her self-made hashtag for the occasion, #DB40, that she began using earlier in the week.
The resort is modeled after a sultan’s palace and dubbed a ‘peaceful paradise.’ The extravagant retreat features private pools as well as an oasis of palm and olive trees.
Among the invited guests are: Tom Cruise, Gordon Ramsey and his wife Tana , Liv Tyler and her beau who are already at the resort.
