Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen’s eco-friendly mega mansion has a new owner.
On Wednesday the Los Angeles Times reported rapper and entrepreneur Dr Dre paid $40m for the Brentwood, California, property.
That’s $10m less than the power couple had listed it for three months ago.
The home was on a few millionaires’ wish lists, according to TMZ.
But it was Dre – who recently closed a $3b Apple deal with Jimmy Iovine for their Beats company – who came out the winning bidder.
TMZ reported, ‘Dr. Dre fell in love with Tom Brady’s mega-mansion in L.A. – and put an offer to buy the house almost immediately after it hit the market back in March.’
A source told the website ‘multiple interested parties ready to put offers on the house’ but the celebrity couple decided to honour the tired and tested first in, best dressed and give the 49-year-old music mogul dibs.
However, TMZ reports that the Compton-born rapper wanted to make the house his own, and does not want any of the included furniture – which is potentially worth over a million dollars.

While Dr Dre – whose real name is Andre Romelle Young – has been quiet on the charts recently, his behind-the-scenes producing and entrepreneurial ventures, namely his Beats by Dr Dre headphones, means he is worth a staggering $550 million according to Forbes.
With that kind of money behind him, the home in the gated Brentwood Country Estates is only befitting the star.
The eco-friendly home is actually two estates that collectively feature eight bedrooms, a six-car garage and even a moat.
The main house alone is almost 14,000 square feet, with six bedrooms and nine bathrooms.
Making sure Dr Dre could never want for entertainment, according to Architectural Digest the 3.6-acre property also includes a professional grade home gym, an infinity pool, a waterfall and motor court.
Despite the awe inspiring expanse, Gisele told the magazine that she loved the home’s simplicity.
She said: ‘I like simplicity and coziness. I want to live in a place that feels like a real home, where you can put your feet up on the couch and just relax.’
Her quarterback husband seconded the notion saying: ‘Gisele and I have eight sisters between us, and there are lots of kids. We built this house as a sanctuary for our family – a place where we can enjoy being together.’
