Vodacom Durban July 2017 #TheColourOfMagic brought out all aspects of mystery, intrigue and a touch of magical sparkle.
We asked stylist and Image consultant Aseema Kazi to share her best and worst looks from the fabulous horse racing event.
Demi Leigh Nel-Peters, arrived owning the title of the country’s most beautiful girl. Her stunning rose-leafed tunic with a hint of sparkle thread and clever one sleeved design perfectly framed her slender physique whilst showcasing those well toned legs that would have put many of the thoroughbreds to shame. Her soft draped skirt added both class and glamour.
Ayanda Thabete brought glitz and glamour in her silver-grey form fitted gown with textured tule. The delicate patterned shoulder straps bring a hint of masquerade ball to this beautiful gown.
Kim Jayde reminded us why she owns the title of SuperModel striking a pose in this earthy toned olive green gown. The broad belt on her tiny waist in the same fabric keeps the look young and fresh whilst the dominatrix inspired collar brings on the sexy.
Mr & Mrs Natasen bring a little magical touch of their own to the races with her elegant lace detailed dress in burgundy whilst his cool lilac bow tie & shirt perfectly compliments the look 2. I’m thinking Carly Baily missed the memo here with her attempt at African fusion. I’m just not feeling this look.
I absolutely love this mint green ensemble in sequined bustier and hat detail. Khanyi Mbau’s sheer white open coat finishes the look with class and elegance.
This cute little peplum style dress in burgundy is the perfect cocktail dress complete with beaded accents on her belt. The floral detail on each breast is all the magic you need on race day.
What can be cuter than Minnie Dlamini in this peacock inspired white sequined gown. The cut-out pattern is repeated in her head piece and can there be anything more magical than her smile.
