Durban, was announced as the host city for the 2022 Commonwealth Games on Wednesday, winning its lone bid to become the first African city to be awarded the quadrennial showpiece.
The announcement was made by the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) outgoing president Prince Tunku Imran, after the organisation’s general assembly meeting in Auckland.
