Music festivals are their own kind of fantasyland, but if you want to party where there’s unlimited fun, now’s your chance! uShaka Marine world are hosting their very first Electro Wave Dance Experience on Saturday, September 30th at Wet ‘n Wild from 9am – 5pm.

Although the entertainment is targeted at mostly Tweens and Teens from 13 – 17 years, the event can be enjoyed by the entire family. Partygoers can enjoy 8 hours of non-stop electro sounds featuring some of the country’s best EDM DJ’s. From 9am until 5pm, Wet ‘n Wild will become an all-out EDM extravaganza. “A spectacular outdoor event, in the heart of the uShaka Marine World, is waiting for you,” says Marketing Director Mpume Mthembu.

Kick starting this dance experience from 9am will feature finalists of uShaka Marine Worlds Amplified Vibez DJ battle. Starting at 9am sees DJ Jashmir, followed by Philafuze and Kwanda – so be sure to get in early and support our local talent.

The afternoon session from 12pm is sure to heat up with Durban’s own Amigo Santana, bringing some deep tech and funky house beats to the party. Having played at many major events across the country as well as outside of our borders in Mauritius and Mozambique, Santana is also currently the resident DJ at the infamous Origin Nightclub where you can catch him playing side by side many top SA as well as international DJs.

DJ Chris Taylor, who has engraved his name in the South African dance music scene over the last few years. He has mixed at shows across Africa as well as in Asia and is known for playing uplifting progressive house and electro. Taylor has also been known to jump between genres and play across the board. He has also performed alongside some of the world’s top DJ’s/Producers including the World’s No.1 DJ for 2013 & 2014 Hardwell, Avicii, Armin Van Buuren, Tïesto, Zedd, W & W, Skrillex, Fedde Le Grande and more. Not only has Chris aligned himself with these huge international power houses, he has also played alongside some of South Africa’s finest exports such as Black Coffee, Goldfish, Goodluck, Locnville, Haezer, DJ Fresh, Pascal & Pearce, Roger Goode, Dean Fuel, Niskerone and many more.

Veranda Panda made up of, creative combination, Liam Magner and Jane Baillie will also be taking to spotlight with their beat-mashing, party-making amalgamation of electronic music and live instrumentation. Throw in some vocals, a whole heap of energy, and you have Durban’s famed pandas in action. The unlikely combination of EDM and Violin has seen the duo rise to become one of the country’s most original and popular acts. Having performed extensively throughout South Africa, their music has seen them take to stages across the globe, with appearances in London, Paris, Sweden, Reunion Islands and Frankfurt. They produce, create and perform EDM. Their latest single ‘Chocolate Mermaid’ is currently working the airways and climbing up the 5FM charts.

Another highlight on the Electro Wave stage will be the ever popular Kyle Deutsch. Known for wowing South Africa during Season 10 of Idols SA, with his distinct mix of pop, r&b, hip-hop and house influences and finishing in the Top 5, Deutsch has since collaborated with acclaimed South African artists Cassper Nyovest, DJ Capital, AewonWolf and music producers Sketchy Bongo & GanjaBeatz. 2015 saw Kyle and fellow Idols contestant Shekinah Donnel climb the charts with their hit single “Back to The Beach”. Kyle’s first single with DJ’s G-Funk and Tista, “On The Run” is a popular play on 5FM and was selected for the famous “BUMP” and “ultimix at 6” compilations for 2013.

Now a party of this kind is not complete without the infamous Roger Goode from 5fm – producer of several albums, compilations and remixes, more than 10 years’ experience producing and hosting a variety of radio shows on 5FM, digital and online channels. He has broadcast internationally from the likes of Ibiza, Miami, New York and other party destinations. His radio studio is also known for regularly turning into a creative circus where great music minds meet and cool things happen.

What makes this one-day event unique is the fact that uShaka Marine World has something no other festival can come close to – entertainment, water slides, and scrumptious food, all in one theme park setting, so, not only do you get to party but party goers and their families can spend the whole day at uShaka Marine World’s Wet ‘n Wild enjoying great water slides before and during the main event.

Like any party, the magic will wrap up at 5pm. So for all EDM die-hards, be sure to get your ticket which costs just R178 for early bird tickets which can be purchased until 24th September. All Over 18s to bring identity documents to be issued with colour coded bracelets to ensure strictly no underage drinking. From September 25th tickets will cost R199 and can all be purchased from uShaka Marine World’s online ticketing/Computicket or at the uShaka ticketing office on the day.
