EXCITING OPPORTUNTIES IN STORE FOR SEVERAL STARBURST PROMOTIONS ARTISTS Two talented musicians from the stable of the prestigious PR Agency, Starburst Promotions, have been invited by the popular kykNET breakfast show, Ontbytsake, to take part in their competition for independent artists and to perform at their exciting outdoor concert on 30 July 2022 at Hazeldean Valley Trails. Muller Brandt, who just dropped his debut single and music video – Moedertaal – will release his first album on 9 September and is very excited to share more of his own music with the public.”The album will reveal a lot of my personality. It is a heartfelt combination of deeper music and upbeat tracks. I believe we have managed to stay true to the original Afrikaans sound, but we have added some modern elements,” explains the thirty-year-old artist who has been in the industry for twelve years. He feels honoured to be selected to partake in the competition and looks forward to performing at the upcoming concert. Simoné Roets, who recently returned to South Africa after living and working in Australia, feels just as privileged to be part of the competition and outdoor concert. “I look forward to sharing my music on stage at the concert. It’s going to be acoustic – the way in which I write most of my songs!” The singer-songwriter who has had several hits on the radio in the past few months (Dans in die Donker and Ongerep ft. Joshua na die Reën), and who’s first album will also be released in February 2023, is now twenty-six weeks pregnant with a baby girl and she and her husband, Estiaan, are looking forward to this new chapter in their lives. “We are very excited and ready for our lives to change,” she shares about the good news. The dynamic Ontbytsake team, which consists of Dawie Roodt (economist), Leon Gropp (musician), Eloïse Cupido (actress) and Corli Botha (chef), also believes in making a difference and being involved in the development of art and culture, and they saw this competition as the perfect opportunity to give exposure to emerging talent. They also donated 6 700 litres of soup to the hungry on Mandela Day as part of Chefs with Compassion’s annual soup challenge, after being challenged by their kitchen sponsor, AEG. On Saturday, 30 July 2022, Muller and Simoné will, together with other artists provide entertainment during Ontbytsake‘s first mountain bike challenge and family day which will take place in Pretoria.
